Material Handler

Summary: The Material Handler performs all tasks related to the shipping, receiving and storage of parts and equipment passing through the warehouse. Inventory related activities include, but are not limited to storage, organization, and inventory counts. This position handles all receipts by updating the receiving log and entering receipt information into the ERP System. The Material Handler assists in ensuring customer shipments are completed in a timely manner and are accurate. Communicating any issues regarding order fulfillment and parts outages to the appropriate parties is required.


  • Receive incoming material from carriers as needed. Verify receipts by checking documentation for accuracy and material is correct based on description. Ensure shortages (if any) are noted and communicated as well as any overages or damage. Sort material for delivery to the appropriate location/persons as needed
  • Process and ship outbound material as needed. Coordinates movement of material within building; provide materials for production Kan Ban or per request daily
  • Respond to both internal and external customer inquiries regarding shipment or service requests. Solves or assists in solving problems inside and out of the department
  • Coordinate internal material movement and storage; perform cycle counts as required
  • Coordinated work activities with team including operation of dial out and charge stands
  • Responsible for keeping an adequate amount of shipping materials on hand and forwarding requisitions for additional materials to supervisor for approval
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition; follow prescribed safety regulations or rules
  • Process device activation and deactivation requests as needed and ensure the proper number of each type are maintained

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: The basic qualifications listed below are representative of the relevant knowledge, skills, and/or experience required in order to be hired. These are requirements that we have determined are the minimum a candidate must have in order to be successful in this role.

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of one (1) year of prior experience in a shipping and receiving capacity
  • Experience with working with UPS and FedEx software/websites

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Attention to detail
  • Able to interpret packing slips
  • Able to type/enter accurate data into various systems used to perform job functions, including Gmail, Word, and Excel as well as others
  • Familiarity with bills of lading and how to complete them, as well as additional forms used or required by the major carriers
  • Knowledge of computer programs and corporate systems relevant to logistics
  • Capable of estimating weight and using information to calculate shipping costs
  • Ability to read and write in English, follow oral and written instructions, and use simple math
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members, management, and both internal/external customers


  • Office environment with minimal to no exposure to extreme temperatures expected
  • Major activities include working on PC while sitting, telephone use
  • Physical effort includes standing, bending, light lifting, and limited stretching and reaching
  • Must be able to submit to drug screening to the extent permissible by law

Starting pay is $16.25/hour
